
Casablanca Stock Exchange Shows Modest Recovery as MASI Gains 0.16% on Monday

Monday, 18 May 2026 – Market Overview
The Casablanca Stock Exchange (CSE) kicked off the week with a tentative gain after a clearly negative prior week. The flagship MASI index rose 0.16% to close at 18,448.30 points, narrowing its year‑to‑date under‑performance to -2.11%.
Meanwhile, the MASI‑20 index – which aggregates the market’s largest caps – slipped 0.32% to 1,331.43 points. The divergence suggests that the modest bounce was driven by a handful of mid‑cap stocks rather than a broad‑based rally among the heavyweight names.Trading activity remained restrained, with a total turnover of 211 million MAD (≈ 196 million MAD on the main market). The SMI share accounted for the bulk of the volume, handling 67 million MAD of trades (a 7.19% share, price 9,849 MAD). TGCC followed with 16 million MAD, edging down 0.13% to 770 MAD.
On the upside, Managem surged 4.99% to 14,698 MAD, while CMT advanced 2.78% to 4,810 MAD, leading the list of gainers.
Overall market capitalization stands at approximately 1,062 billion MAD.
