Morocco's Main Index Slips, Mining Stocks Defy Trend

Morocco's Main Index Slips, Mining Stocks Defy Trend

On Monday, May 11, 2026, the Casablanca Stock Exchange ended on a muted note, with key indices slipping on a downward slope. The flagship index, the MASI, fell 0.53% to 18,850.91 points, still posting a year‑to‑date gain of just 0.02%.

Similarly, the MASI 20, which groups the market’s biggest caps, slipped 0.93% to the same 18,850.91 points.

Turnover remained limited, reaching only 185 million dirhams. Yet Managem (+1.51%) stayed the most actively traded stock, moving 27 million dirhams at 14,100 dirhams per share, after briefly touching an intraday high of 14,399 dirhams—a level that already represents a 120.31% increase since the start of 2026. CMT (+3.74%) was not far behind, exchanging 22 million dirhams at 5,071 dirhams.

The total market capitalisation slipped to 1,079 billion dirhams.

In the winners’ circle, the mining sector bucked the trend. SMI posted the session’s strongest rise, gaining 6.10% to 10,820 dirhams on a volume of 11.9 million dirhams. Rebab Company also extended its rebound, up 5.95% to 100.65 dirhams.
