Bank Al‑Maghrib reported that its official reserve assets (ORA) stood at 500.7 billion dirhams on 7 August 2026, up 0.5 % from the previous week and 22.6 % year‑on‑year.
Foreign‑Exchange Market Performance
During the week of 6‑12 August, the Moroccan dirham gained 0.2 % against the euro and 0.1 % against the U.S. dollar. No auction operations were conducted in this period.
Central‑Bank Interventions
Average daily interventions totalled 144.8 billion dirhams, split among:
- 49.4 billion dirhams of 7‑day advances
- 47.9 billion dirhams of longer‑term delivered repos
- 47.5 billion dirhams of guaranteed loans
Inter‑Bank Market Activity
The average daily turnover returned to 2.1 billion dirhams, while the inter‑bank rate settled at 2.25 %.
Recent Auction
On 12 August 2026 (value date 13 August), the central bank injected 55 billion dirhams through 7‑day advances.
Casablanca Stock Exchange
The MASI index rose 2.7 % over the week, driven by strong gains in:
