Transaction details
Risma, a publicly listed company on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, confirmed that on 27 April 2026 it signed a definitive sales agreement with Albatros, a subsidiary of the tourism and leisure group Pickalbatros. The agreement transfers ownership of the Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche, located in the historic heart of Casablanca, for a total price of 450 million Moroccan dirhams (MDH).
Strategic backdrop
The disposal is aligned with Risma’s active management of its hotel portfolio. After the transaction, Risma will retain a strong presence in Casablanca’s historic centre through two properties:
- Novotel Casablanca City Center – 281 rooms
- Ibis Casablanca City Center – 266 rooms
The group also indicated that it plans to invest in the existing Novotel, repositioning it toward a higher‑end segment.
Future growth plans
Risma is simultaneously scouting for a prime real‑estate plot on which to develop a new luxury hotel, reinforcing its ambition to expand in the upscale market.
Financial impact
The sale is expected to generate a non‑recurring profit of roughly 160 MDH after tax in the 2026 consolidated accounts. In addition, the removal of recurring revenue and expense items linked to the Sofitel should improve the profit margins for 2026 and the years that follow.
