Morocco Draws Nearly 9.4 Million Tourists in H1 2026, Up 6% YoY
Morocco welcomed about 9.4 million international visitors by the end of June 2026, a 6 % increase over the same period last year, according to the DEPF. Strong growth from European and North‑American source markets, coupled with higher night‑stay figures and a 14.6 % jump in travel revenues, points to a robust outlook for the country’s tourism sector.

Visitor Numbers Surge
By the end of June 2026, Morocco welcomed approximately 9.4 million international tourists, marking a 6 % increase compared with the same period in 2025, according to the latest outlook released by the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF).
Top Source Markets
Growth was driven by strong performance across several key source markets. Arrivals from France rose 9 %, while German visitors increased by 14 %. Belgium and the United States each posted a 9 % rise, the Netherlands 10 %, Italy 6 % and the United Kingdom 4 %. Poland led the pack with a 32 % jump in visitor numbers.
Tourism Value‑Added and Occupancy
The sector’s value‑added grew 8.1 % in the first quarter of 2026, following an 8.7 % rise a year earlier. Indicators suggest the sector will continue its upward trajectory in the coming months.
Night‑stays in classified accommodation facilities climbed 9 % by the end of May, after a 12.4 % increase a year earlier.
Regional Performance
Key destinations recorded notable gains: Marrakech (+10 %), Agadir (+13 %), Casablanca (+12 %), Ouarzazate (+24 %), Rabat (+18 %), Tangier (+8 %), Fez (+7 %), Essaouira (+6 %), Errachidia (+8 %) and Al Haouz (+4 %).
Revenue Outlook
Travel‑related revenues reached roughly 53.8 billion dirhams, up 14.6 % versus May 2025.
