In a significant leap for digital finance, the Centre Monétique Interbancaire (CMI) unveiled Fatourati QR at Gitex Africa, a feature that transforms invoice payments through QR code scanning. This innovation aims to standardize QR codes as a primary method for settling invoices, aligning with global digital payment trends.

How Fatourati QR Works

Users can scan a QR code embedded in paper invoices, emails, PDFs, or web interfaces to instantly access invoice details and initiate payments without manual data entry. The system is powered by a robust network of 32 banks and payment institutions, which handled over 250 million transactions in 2025, ensuring wide accessibility and reliability.

Benefits for Individuals and Businesses

  • For Usagers: Automatic display of invoice information, simplifying payment and transaction reconciliation.
  • For Enterprises (PMEs and Administrations): Integration of QR codes into invoices reduces input errors, speeds up debt collection, and improves payment traceability.

Flexible Integration Options

Organizations can adopt Fatourati QR via multiple channels:

  • Real-time APIs for seamless system integration.
  • Fatourati Collecte web app, deployable within 48 hours.
  • Native integration through aggregators like ERPs, fintechs, and marketplaces.

Inclusive Multi-Channel Ecosystem

Fatourati QR is accessible across over 70 digital and physical channels, including mobile banking apps, MarocPay wallets, ATMs, and bank branches. This approach reinforces its role as an interoperable, mutualized payment ecosystem serving financial institutions, businesses, and end-users.

As Rachid Saihi, Director General of CMI, stated, "Fatourati QR advances our mission to modernize debt settlement flows, enhancing user experience and organizational efficiency." This launch underscores CMI's commitment to driving financial digitization in Morocco and beyond.
