Casablanca Stock Exchange's MASI Index Slides 1.5% to End Week on Heavy Selling
The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed Friday with the broad MASI index down 1.52% at 18,666.95 points, extending its year‑to‑date underperformance. Trading volume hit 359.2 million dirhams, led by Bank of Africa, while the top gainers of the day were Wafa Assurance, Zellidja and SRM.

Market Overview – 30 January 2026
The Casablanca Stock Exchange (CSE) ended the week on a negative note, as the main indices fell and sellers regained momentum across several stocks.
MASI closed at 18,666.95 points, down 1.52%, pushing its year‑to‑date performance to ‑0.95%. The MASI 20 slipped 1.43% to 1,443.29 points, recording a ‑2.85% change for the year.
Trading on the central market amounted to 359.21 million dirhams.
Volume leaders were:
- Bank of Africa – 53.04 million dirhams traded, price down 4.21% to 205 MAD.
- Compagnie Minière de Touissit (CMT) – 40.40 million dirhams, price down 9.97% to 2,575 MAD.
- Managem – 40.39 million dirhams, price down 5.16% to 8,251 MAD.
Top gainers for the session:
- Wafa Assurance – rose 7.50% to close at 4,900 MAD.
- Zellidja – up 5.99%, closing at 246.95 MAD.
- SRM – +5.72% to 479.95 MAD.
The total market capitalisation stood at 1,041.6 billion dirhams at week‑end.
Over the week, the MASI posted a modest gain of 0.13%.
