After more than sixteen years at the helm, Noureddine Bensouda has resigned from his position as director of Morocco’s Treasury General (TGR). Appointed in April 2010, Bensouda steered the institution through a series of structural reforms that modernized public accounting, tightened control over local‑authority finances, and improved the execution of the state budget. Before leading the TGR, he headed the General Directorate of Taxes, where he played a key role in major fiscal reforms. A transitional mechanism is now in place to guarantee continuity while the government prepares a formal announcement of his successor.
