Morocco’s Economic Outlook 2025‑2026: HCP Projects 5% Growth Amid Global Slowdown
Amid rising trade tensions and lingering geopolitical uncertainties, Morocco’s High Commission for Planning (HCP) foresees a modest slowdown in world growth for 2026, but projects a robust domestic expansion. The forecast calls for a GDP rise of 4.7 % in 2025 and an accelerated 5.0 % in 2026, driven mainly by a rebound in agriculture and strong internal demand, while inflation stays under 2 % and the fiscal deficit narrows. Nevertheless, the report warns that the trade gap will widen as imports outpace exports, and that long‑term sustainability will depend on boosting export performance to balance the external deficit.
