Cosumar Clinches Top Academic ESG Reporting Award in Agro‑Food Sector

On 11 June 2026, Morocco’s leading sugar manufacturer Cosumar was awarded the inaugural Academic Prize for ESG Reporting Quality among listed companies, specifically in the agro‑food category. The prize, organised by the Casablanca Stock Exchange together with UQAM’s School of Management Sciences, Finance Montréal and Cadi Ayyad University, was decided by master’s students using a new international sustainability‑reporting framework.

On 11 June 2026, Cosumar, Morocco’s leading sugar producer, received the inaugural Academic Prize for ESG Reporting Quality awarded to listed companies in the agro‑food sector.

Who organized the award?

The prize was presented under a joint initiative of the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the School of Management Sciences at UQAM (Canada), Finance Montréal and the Faculty of Law, Economics and Social Sciences (FSJESK) of Cadi Ayyad University.

How the winner was selected

A panel of master’s students from several Moroccan universities assessed the ESG reports of listed firms using a scoring grid built on the latest international sustainability reporting standards, developed in partnership with Finance Montréal. Cosumar’s report scored highest, earning it the top honor.
