Guelmim, Morocco – Atacadao, a prominent player in the Moroccan retail sector and a subsidiary of LabelVie, has announced the opening of its latest large-format store in Guelmim. This strategic move underscores the company's continued expansion into Morocco's southern regions, reinforcing its network and commitment to local communities.

A Significant Investment in Regional Development

The new Atacadao facility in Guelmim is an impressive undertaking, occupying a total area of 21,730 square meters. It features a substantial sales floor spanning 3,745 square meters, supported by a 1,364 square meter reserve, and offers a convenient parking area with 202 spaces. Future plans for the site include the addition of a 1,700 square meter service station, further enhancing its utility for customers.

This ambitious project represents an investment of 100 million Moroccan Dirhams (MAD). More importantly, it has generated significant socio-economic benefits, directly creating 100 jobs and indirectly supporting another 100 positions. Such an influx of employment opportunities is expected to contribute substantially to the economic vitality of the Guelmim region.

Strengthening Presence in Southern Provinces

The inauguration of the Guelmim store follows closely on the heels of Atacadao's first establishment in the southern provinces, located in Laâyoune. This rapid expansion solidifies the brand's foothold in Southern Morocco, aligning with its broader strategy to support the economic growth and vibrancy of these developing regions.

Commitment to Affordability and Accessibility

Mr. Hicham Yacoubi, Deputy General Manager of Atacadao, emphasized the company's mission: "With the opening of this store in Guelmim, we continue our commitment to bringing our offering closer to the populations of the southern regions. True to our model, Atacadao provides the same products at the same prices as in all its stores across Morocco, benefiting both professionals and individuals. Our ambition is to support purchasing power and foster local economic development by offering a wide, varied, and accessible range of products."

The Cash & Carry Model: Value for All

Atacadao's success is built upon its efficient Cash & Carry model, designed to meet the diverse needs of both business clients (such as grocers, cafes, restaurants, and hotels) and individual consumers. This model offers several key advantages:

  • Large self-service shopping areas.
  • Flexibility to purchase items individually or in bulk.
  • Progressive pricing, with discounts based on quantity purchased.
  • A vast and competitive selection of thousands of product references.

By maintaining nationally harmonized prices and absorbing logistical overheads, Atacadao plays a crucial role in enhancing citizens' purchasing power and assisting local economic actors in their daily operations and growth.
