SGTM Eyes $377M Stadium Envelope Deal to Cement Casablanca Icon
Casablanca’s 115,000-seat Grand Stade Hassan II just took a decisive step forward: SGTM has submitted the lowest compliant bid—3.76 billion dirhams—for the roof-and-façade package, beating rival Inter Tridim by 90 million DH. With technical and administrative compliance already cleared, the Casablanca-listed contractor is now the front-runner for one of Morocco’s most watched infrastructure lots, setting the stage for a 24-month delivery that will define the stadium’s silhouette before the 2027 opening.

Lowest bid puts SGTM in the driver’s seat
SGTM has positioned itself as the likely winner of the envelope package for Morocco’s flagship sports venue, submitting a 3.76 billion dirham ($377 million) offer that undercuts sole competitor Inter Tridim by 2.3%. Both firms passed the technical and administrative gate, according to bid-opening documents seen by Bourse News, leaving price as the deciding factor.
Package scope and timetable
The tender, floated by the National Agency for Public Facilities, covers 24 months of design, engineering and installation for the stadium’s retractable roof, translucent façade and associated steelwork. The agency budgeted 3.29 billion dirhams, meaning SGTM’s proposal remains only 14% above the official estimate—well within the 20% tolerance typically accepted for complex international bids.
Strategic continuity for SGTM-TGCC
Winning the envelope lot would extend SGTM’s footprint on the project; in June 2025 the SGTM-TGCC joint-venture already secured the main construction lot (3.4 billion dirhams). Investors view a second award as a catalyst for margin expansion, given economies of scale in procurement and on-site coordination.
What investors should watch next
- Contract signing is expected within 45 days pending the statutory stand-still period and any final due-diligence checks.
- SGTM’s order-book could top 18 billion dirhams, a record high, once the envelope contract is booked.
- Peer multiples may re-rate if the group demonstrates it can deliver multi-billion bespoke steel structures on time—a key differentiator in future PPP bids across Africa.
