European exchanges opened the session on a level footing, showing a muted reaction compared to the sharper moves seen in the United States and Asia as higher interest rates pushed technology names lower.
After a few minutes of trading, the Paris Bourse was up 0.21%, led by energy group Veolia (+1.03%) and industrial conglomerate Saint‑Gobain (+1.03%). In the rest of the region, Zurich gained 0.29%, London edged up 0.08%, Milan was almost flat at 0.06%, and Frankfurt slipped slightly by 0.08% after a balanced opening.
Overall, the session reflected a cautious stance from investors, with tech stocks under pressure from the rate hike cycle.
