Moroccan Central Bank’s Official Reserves Surge to 495.8 bn Dirhams (June 26)
Bank Al‑Maghrib reports that its official reserves reached 495.8 billion dirhams on 26 June 2026 – up 1 % from the previous week, 12 % since the start of the year and 23.4 % year‑on‑year. During the same period the dirham edged higher against the US dollar, slipped modestly versus the euro, and the central bank carried out sizeable daily interventions across short‑ and long‑term facilities.

Official reserves climb to 495.8 billion dirhams as of 26 June
Bank Al‑Maghrib’s official reserves continued to rise, reaching 495.8 billion dirhams on 26 June 2026 – a 1 % increase week‑on‑week, 12 % since the start of the year and 23.4 % over the past twelve months.
In the foreign‑exchange market, the Moroccan dirham gained 0.1 % against the US dollar while losing 0.4 % versus the euro between 25 June and 1 July. No auction operations were carried out during that period.
Central‑bank interventions totaled an average of 156.6 billion dirhams per day. The breakdown includes 61.6 billion dirhams in 7‑day advances, 49.6 billion dirhams in longer‑term repos, and 45.4 billion dirhams in guaranteed loans.
On the interbank market, average daily turnover returned to 1.7 billion dirhams, with the interbank rate settling at 2.25 %.
During the 1 July tender (value date 2 July), Bank Al‑Maghrib injected 53.5 billion dirhams through 7‑day advances.
