CIH Bank has been honored at the prestigious GEFF Awards ceremony organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), marking a significant milestone in the Moroccan bank's commitment to green finance and energy transition.

Recognition for Green Finance Leadership

The award recognizes the successful collaboration between CIH Bank and the EBRD under the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) initiative. Through this partnership, the bank has effectively supported its clients in financing projects focused on energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy development across Morocco.

This accolade aligns with CIH Bank's broader sustainability strategy, which positions green financing as a core strategic priority for the institution's future growth and impact.

The GREEN DEV Initiative: A Dedicated Energy Transition Solution

Between 2022 and 2025, CIH Bank deployed GREEN DEV, a specialized financing solution designed to support investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Developed in partnership with the EBRD within the GEFF framework, this program targeted industrial and commercial enterprises seeking to modernize their energy infrastructure.

The GREEN DEV offering featured a comprehensive support package that combined financing with technical assistance. Key benefits included complimentary energy audits, subsidies ranging from 10% to 15% of the financed amount, and customized technical support throughout project implementation.

This structured approach enabled CIH Bank's clients to access tailored solutions for implementing energy performance improvements and transitioning toward more sustainable production and consumption models.

Award-Winning Project Highlights Collective Impact

The Best Energy Efficiency Project award at the GEFF Awards was presented to BIOSEC, a client supported by CIH Bank throughout their energy transition journey. This recognition demonstrates the tangible impact of the mechanisms established to assist businesses in their energy transition projects and promote the adoption of more sustainable operational practices.

Continued Commitment to Green Finance

Building on this experience, CIH Bank has announced plans to extend its commitment to financing the energy transition. The bank is currently finalizing its subscription to the third edition of the GEFF line, as well as the MidGEFF facility.

These new financing lines are scheduled to be offered to large corporate and SME clients in 2027, marking a new phase in the bank's support for companies undertaking energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

Through this continued momentum, CIH Bank reaffirms its ambition to support clients through the transformations shaping tomorrow's economy by developing financing solutions adapted to environmental and energy challenges. This initiative represents a continuation of the bank's sustainability strategy, with green financing serving as one of its fundamental pillars.
