Morocco's Manufacturing PPI Rises 0.3% in April, Driven by Food and Chemical Sectors
The High Commission for Planning (HCP) announced that Morocco’s producer price index for manufacturing (excluding oil refining) climbed 0.3 % in April versus March. The modest gain was fueled by higher prices in food processing (+0.7 %) and chemicals (+0.4 %), while apparel, metallurgy and non‑machinery metal products saw small declines. Other sectors such as extractive industries, electricity and water services showed no change, indicating a mixed picture for the country’s industrial price environment.

April 2026 Producer Price Index for Manufacturing (Excluding Oil Refining)
The High Commission for Planning (HCP) reported that Morocco’s producer price index for the "manufacturing industries excluding petroleum refining" rose by 0.3 % in April compared with March.
The increase was primarily driven by a 0.7 % jump in food‑processing prices and a 0.4 % rise in the chemical sector. In contrast, the apparel industry fell 0.8 %, metallurgy dropped 0.3 %, and non‑machinery metal product prices slipped 0.1 %.
Meanwhile, the producer price indices for extractive industries, electricity production, and water supply remained flat throughout April.
