CIH Bank has announced its financial results for the first half of 2026, showcasing steady growth across key performance indicators. The banking group's consolidated net banking income reached 2.826 billion dirhams, compared to 2.748 billion dirhams in the same period last year, representing a 2.8% increase.
Strong Second Quarter Performance
The second quarter of 2026 proved particularly robust, with consolidated net banking income totaling 1.556 billion dirhams, up from 1.448 billion dirhams in Q2 2025. Bank management attributes this positive momentum to strong core banking operations and meaningful contributions from subsidiary companies.
On a standalone basis, the bank's net banking income stood at 2.277 billion dirhams for the half-year period, reflecting a 1.2% year-over-year growth. The second quarter alone generated 1.216 billion dirhams in revenues.
Customer Activity Shows Positive Trends
Commercial activity continued its upward trajectory throughout the period. Consolidated customer deposits reached 102.2 billion dirhams at the end of June, marking a 2.7% increase compared to December 2025 levels. On a standalone basis, deposits grew 2.2% to reach 87.4 billion dirhams.
Customer loans on a consolidated basis totaled 119 billion dirhams, representing a modest 0.7% increase since year-end 2025. However, on a standalone basis and excluding repurchase agreements, loan growth was more pronounced at 5.5%, bringing the portfolio to 77.9 billion dirhams.
Balance Sheet Expansion
The group's consolidated balance sheet reached 171 billion dirhams in total assets, growing 4.4% compared to December 2025. On a standalone basis, the balance sheet stood at 133.9 billion dirhams, up 3.2% over the same period.
Strategic Capital Raising Initiative
A significant development during the semester was the successful completion of a subordinated bond issuance worth one billion dirhams. This private placement was executed with qualified institutional investors and comprised two tranches of 500 million dirhams each, both with ten-year maturities. One tranche carries a fixed interest rate while the other features an annually adjustable rate structure.
According to CIH Bank, the proceeds from this bond issuance are earmarked to strengthen the bank's capital base and finance its strategic development plan, positioning the institution for continued growth in Morocco's evolving banking landscape.
