Casablanca Stock Exchange Masi Slips Below 17,600 Points Amid Market Slide
The Casablanca Stock Exchange's benchmark index, the Masi, dropped 0.84% to 17,443.33 points on Thursday, extending its year‑to‑date decline to 7.44%. While some heavyweight stocks like HPS and Managem posted gains, the overall market showed weakness, with LafargeHolcim Maroc and Involys falling, and key movers SBM, CMT and Vicenne rising sharply.

Casablanca Stock Exchange: Masi dips below 17,600 points as market slides
After a 2.05% rally the previous day, the Casablanca Stock Exchange's main index, the Masi, eased on Thursday, losing 0.84% to close at 17,443.33 points, extending its year‑to‑date loss to 7.44%.
The Masi 20 index followed suit, slipping 1.49% to 1,327.91 points. Trading volumes remained modest, reaching 383 million dirhams on the central market.
Top performers:
- HPS led turnover with 40 million dirhams, up 6.86% to 545 dirhams, buoyed by 2025 results that rose 40.5% and a more profitable 2026 outlook.
- Managem exchanged 38 million dirhams, gaining 3.01% to 8,480 dirhams after hitting an intraday high of 8,600 dirhams. The group reported 2025 earnings that surged 384% in net profit, surpassing 3 billion dirhams, and announced a 37.5% dividend increase to 55 dirhams.
Conversely, LafargeHolcim Maroc fell 3.01% to 1,740 dirhams on a volume of 32 million dirhams.
Losers of the day: Involys dropped nearly 10% to 141.35 dirhams.
On the upside, SBM surged close to 10% to 2,227 dirhams, followed by CMT (+8.06% at 3,500 dirhams) and Vicenne (+6.93% at 432 dirhams).
The total market capitalisation stood at 975 billion dirhams.
Other market highlights featured Allianz Trade appointing Francis Jespers as CEO and the dirham’s 0.4% gain against the euro.
