BCP Group Completes 100% Takeover of Atlantic Business International for DH1.88bn

<p>On December 24, 2025, Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) announced the completion of its purchase of the remaining 20.17 % of Atlantic Business International (ABI) from ADP II Holding 7 L.P., a vehicle backed by Development Partners International (DPI). The deal, valued at DH 1.88 billion, brings BCP’s stake in ABI to 100 %.</p><p>ABI, now wholly owned by BCP, ranks fifth among West African banks with a loan portfolio of DH 38.9 billion and a client base of roughly 885 000. Operating through ten banks and four insurance firms across nine Sub‑Saharan countries, the acquisition strengthens BCP’s pan‑African footprint and underscores its strategy to deepen regional presence and create value for shareholders.</p>

BCP Group Secures Full Ownership of ABI

On 24 December 2025, Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) confirmed that it had completed the acquisition of the remaining 20.17 % stake in Atlantic Business International (ABI) from ADP II Holding 7 L.P., a vehicle advised by the pan‑African investment fund Development Partners International (DPI). The transaction was executed at a price of DH 1.88 billion.

Following the deal, BCP now holds 100 % of the share capital and voting rights of ABI, cementing its control over one of the continent’s most significant financial platforms.

ABI – A Leading Pan‑African Player

As of 30 June 2025, ABI ranked fifth among banks in West Africa (UMOA and Guinea), with a loan portfolio of DH 38.9 billion and a client base of approximately 885 000 borrowers. The group operates through ten banks and four insurance companies across nine Sub‑Saharan African nations.
