STROC Industrie Reports 91% Profit Decline in H1 2026 Amid Geopolitical Headwinds

Profitability Intact Despite Sharp Revenue Contraction

STROC Industrie maintained profitability during the first half of 2026, though financial results revealed a significant downturn in business activity. The company's board of directors, convened on September 23 under chairman Nabil Ziatt's leadership, approved accounts showing revenues of 37.7 million dirhams—a steep 73.5% decline from the 142.2 million dirhams recorded in H1 2025.

Production volumes reflected similar pressures, contracting from 139.8 million dirhams to 49.9 million dirhams. Operating profit remained positive at 3.2 million dirhams, though substantially lower than the 31.5 million dirhams achieved a year earlier. Financial results contributed 0.6 million dirhams, while non-recurring items showed a loss of 1.5 million dirhams. The bottom line showed net income of 1.4 million dirhams, compared to 15.4 million dirhams at the end of June 2025.

Geopolitical Tensions and Supply Chain Disruptions Weigh on Operations

According to company disclosures, the semester was heavily impacted by escalating geopolitical tensions across the Middle East region, which created cascading effects throughout global supply chains. These disruptions manifested in temporary project suspensions, postponed contract initiations, and rising costs for certain raw materials.

The operational challenges extended to client relationships, with the company experiencing extended payment cycles from some customers—a factor that further constrained cash flow and working capital during the period.

Contract Timing Between Major Projects Creates Transitional Gap

STROC Industrie attributed part of the performance decline to the natural rhythm of its project portfolio. Following the completion of several substantial contracts throughout 2025, the first half of 2026 represented a transitional phase characterized by preparation work, procurement activities, and initial operational deployment for new projects.

Management emphasized that this period precedes the progressive ramp-up of these new initiatives, suggesting that activity levels should accelerate in subsequent quarters as projects move into full execution mode.

Strategic Response Focuses on Diversification and Operational Recovery

Facing this challenging environment, company leadership continues implementing a recovery plan centered on strengthening operational fundamentals and expanding the client base. The strategic objective aims to establish more sustainable business activity patterns and improve future prospects through greater portfolio diversification.

The company's ability to preserve profitability despite a 73.5% revenue contraction demonstrates cost discipline, though the path forward will depend heavily on project execution timing, stabilization of international conditions, and success in winning new contracts across diversified sectors and geographies.
