Morocco's Manufacturing Producer Prices Edge Up 0.1% in July 2026

Morocco's manufacturing sector saw a modest uptick in producer prices during July 2026, with the index rising 0.1% compared to the previous month. The High Commission for Planning (HCP) reported mixed performance across industrial subsectors, as food industries and non-metallic mineral products registered gains while chemical manufacturing experienced price declines. Meanwhile, extractive industries and energy distribution sectors remained stable throughout the month.

Morocco's manufacturing producer price index recorded a marginal increase of 0.1% in July 2026 compared to the previous month, according to recent data released by the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

The index specifically tracks manufacturing industries excluding petroleum refining, providing insight into cost pressures across Morocco's industrial base.

Sectoral Performance Breakdown

The modest overall gain masks divergent trends across different manufacturing subsectors. The HCP's analysis revealed that several key industries contributed to the upward movement:

  • Food Industries: Producer prices rose 0.2% during the month
  • Non-Metallic Mineral Products Manufacturing: Also increased 0.2%
  • Metallurgy: Showed the strongest gain with a 0.9% price increase

However, these gains were partially offset by declining prices in the chemical industry, which fell 0.1% during July.

Stable Energy and Extractive Sectors

Beyond manufacturing, the HCP noted that other industrial sectors maintained price stability throughout July 2026. The extractive industries, electricity production and distribution, and water production and distribution all reported unchanged producer price indices for the month.

This stability in energy and utility pricing contrasts with the modest volatility observed in manufacturing subsectors, suggesting different underlying cost dynamics across Morocco's industrial economy.

The Industrial, Energy and Mining Producer Price Index (IPPIEM) serves as a key indicator for tracking inflationary pressures at the producer level, offering insights into potential future consumer price movements.
