TGCC Wins DH 1.8 Billion Contract to Rebuild Casablanca’s Tessema Stadium
TGCC has been awarded the second‑phase reconstruction contract for Casablanca’s historic Tessema Stadium, valued at DH 1.824 billion. The award follows a competitive bidding process, beating SGTM, and marks the start of intensive structural works that will deliver a modern, 30,000‑seat, partially‑covered venue on a 6.62‑hectare site. The project builds on a recently completed first phase of earthworks and demolition and includes a parallel geotechnical and quality‑control study, signalling a strong pipeline of infrastructure activity in Morocco’s construction sector.

Contract awarded
At the end of July, TGCC secured the second‑phase contract for the reconstruction of Casablanca’s Tessema Stadium, with a bid of DH 1.824 billion. The offer beat rival SGTM, which proposed DH 1.883 billion.
Scope of the second phase
The work includes the main concrete structure, waterproofing, metal frameworks, roofing, interior and exterior cladding, false ceilings, carpentry, painting and final finishes.
Project details
The new stadium will occupy a 6.62‑hectare plot in the Ben M’Sik‑Sidi Othmane prefecture. After demolishing the outdated facility, a modern, partially‑covered arena with a 30,000‑seat capacity will be erected.
Progress timeline
This phase follows the completion of the first phase—earthworks, grading and demolition—awarded to SNTRO for DH 36.44 million (incl. VAT). In February, the public laboratory won the geotechnical and quality‑control contract for DH 6.99 million.
Architectural competition
The final design was chosen in December after a competition among 11 architects and professional groups. Cost estimates for the whole project ranged from DH 642 million to DH 680 million.
All works are expected to boost local construction activity and provide a state‑of‑the‑art venue for sports and events in Casablanca.
