Casablanca Stock Exchange MASI Slides Friday but Ends Week on a Recovery

The MASI index slipped 0.39% on Friday to close at 18,573.12 points, ending the day in the red. Over the week, however, the index clawed back most of the losses from the previous session, finishing with a modest gain. Trading volume stayed robust at 685.75 million MAD, led by Minière Touissit, Attijariwafa Bank and Alliances, while Doha posted the steepest drop.

Friday's Market Snapshot

The Casablanca Stock Exchange saw the MASI index dip 0.39% on Friday, closing at 18,573.12 points. The weekly picture was more positive, as the index reclaimed most of the losses recorded the previous week, ending the week with a modest gain.

Key figures: the MASI 20 fell 0.62% to 1,431.63 points, while the cumulative trade volume reached 685.75 million Moroccan dirhams.

Most Traded Shares

Trading activity was led by Minière Touissit, which handled 87.83 million MAD in transactions and closed up 6.32% at 3,060 MAD. Attijariwafa Bank followed with 84.63 million MAD, remaining flat at 750 MAD. Alliances moved 56.83 million MAD, gaining 3.31% to 515 MAD.

  • CMT – up 5.46% to 6,855 MAD
  • AGMA – up 5.46% to 6,855 MAD
  • IB Maroc – up 4.17% to 68.75 MAD

Biggest Loser

Doha fell 7.24% to 28.20 MAD on a volume of 34 million MAD.

The total market capitalization stood at 1,033.86 billion MAD at close.
