According to early indicators, the Paris CAC 40 could open 0.31% higher. In Frankfurt, DAX futures hint at a 0.05% dip, while London’s FTSE and the pan‑European Stoxx 600 are seen gaining 0.30% and 0.17% respectively.

Oil Markets

Brent crude retreated 1.93% to $86.87 per barrel and WTI slipped 1.95% to $80.75, marking the third consecutive day of losses. The decline follows renewed talks between Iran and Oman on managing the Strait of Hormuz, which has raised hopes of an imminent increase in oil transit capacity.

Nvidia Earnings Focus

Market attention is also fixed on Nvidia’s Q2 results, due later today. Analysts at JP Morgan expect the release to support the ongoing AI‑related trend without delivering a major short‑term boost to the semiconductor sector. Saxo’s chief investment strategist Charu Chanana noted that the key question is the magnitude of any beat and whether the outlook remains strong enough to keep earnings expectations rising.

Global Market Movements

In the United States, the Dow Jones gained 0.30% (160.24 points) to 53,577.40, the S&P 500 rose 0.32% to 7,677.24 and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.66% to 26,151.30. Asian markets also climbed: Tokyo +0.62%, Shanghai +0.58%, CSI 300 +0.87% and Hong Kong +0.82%.

Currency and Bond Markets

On the FX front, the dollar weakened 0.08% against a basket of currencies while the euro edged down 0.10% to 1.1662 USD. Treasury yields were mixed: the 10‑year rose 1.0 bp to 4.6485% after a prior decline, and the 2‑year fell 0.5 bp to 4.1990%. In Europe, the German Bund 10‑year yield slipped 1.4 bp to 3.1905% and the 2‑year dropped 3.5 bp to 2.7743%.
