Akdital expands its international footprint in Saudi Arabia
Moroccan health‑care conglomerate Akdital announced the official rebranding of the Abdul Rahman Al Mishari Hospital in Riyadh. The facility now operates under the name Akdital Hospitals Riyadh – Al Olaya, confirming the full integration of the Saudi landmark into Morocco’s leading private‑sector health group.
A benchmark hospital in Riyadh
Founded in 1987 by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Mishari, a renowned Saudi gynecologist, the hospital has grown into a reference centre for clinical excellence in the capital. It currently provides more than 140 inpatient beds, employs over 500 staff members and delivers a comprehensive portfolio of multidisciplinary medical‑surgical services.
The campus also hosts 44 outpatient clinics, enabling the centre to address a wide range of health needs in a highly specialised environment.
International accreditations that set the bar
- Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI)
- Joint Commission International (JCI)
- Accreditation Canada
- American Association of Continuing Medical Education (AACME)
These credentials rank the hospital among the most certified health facilities in the Kingdom.
Strategic pillar of Akdital’s global growth
The acquisition strengthens Akdital’s presence in a high‑potential Saudi market characterised by a young, growing population, massive public investment in health infrastructure and an ongoing upgrade of hospital standards.
Akdital’s international pipeline is already active. Earlier this year the group closed a $90 million purchase of Tunisia’s Taoufik Hospitals Group, which generated $45 million in revenue in 2024 with an EBITDA margin of 35 % and a net margin of 13 %. The 2025 outlook projects roughly 15 % growth, driven primarily by a booming oncology franchise.
Further Middle‑East ambitions
Beyond Riyadh, Akdital is negotiating the acquisition of a majority stake in Bishri Hospital in Mecca, under a Memorandum of Understanding that is pending regulatory clearance. The company expects to announce additional flagship projects across the Gulf region from 2026 onward, aiming to build a regional hospital network anchored by profitable, internationally‑accredited platforms.
