T2S Group Secures Major Framework Deal with Akdital for Robotic Surgery Rollout Across Morocco

Moroccan medtech leader T2S Group has signed a framework agreement with private hospital operator Akdital to supply, install, and maintain multiple interconnected surgical robots across the latter's healthcare network. The deal reinforces T2S's pivot toward robotic-assisted surgery as a core growth driver and includes a comprehensive turnkey program covering OR integration, biomedical maintenance, staff training, and instrument supply. A dedicated training console will be housed at the newly inaugurated Akdital Academy in Casablanca, while the robots' interconnection paves the way for future telesurgery capabilities, building on a landmark remote procedure performed between Casablanca and Laâyoune in May 2025.

Strategic Partnership Accelerates Robotic Surgery Adoption in Morocco

Casablanca, September 28, 2026 – T2S Group, a cornerstone of Morocco's medical technology sector for over three decades, has formalized a framework contract with Akdital, the kingdom's leading private hospital group, for the large-scale deployment of interconnected surgical robotic systems. The agreement marks a significant milestone in the modernization of Morocco's healthcare infrastructure and cements robotic-assisted surgery as a strategic growth pillar for T2S.

Comprehensive Turnkey Deployment Model

Under the terms of the framework agreement, T2S Group will orchestrate the entire lifecycle integration of the robotic systems across multiple Akdital facilities. This end-to-end mandate encompasses:

 • Supply and installation of latest-generation surgical robots
 • Operating room integration and workflow optimization
 • Biomedical maintenance and technical support
 • Coordination of multidisciplinary clinical and technical teams
 • Supply of specialized surgical instruments and consumables
 • Comprehensive training programs for surgeons, biomedical engineers, and nursing staff

Akdital's clinical, technical, and biomedical teams will collaborate closely to ensure seamless adoption of these advanced technologies into daily surgical practice while maintaining the highest patient safety standards.

Training Infrastructure: Building Local Expertise

A cornerstone of the partnership is the establishment of a dedicated robotic surgery training console at the Akdital Academy, inaugurated in September 2026 in Casablanca. This facility will serve as a national hub for upskilling surgeons in robotic-assisted techniques and protocols, addressing a critical need for specialized human capital as the technology proliferates.

Toward Telesurgery: The Next Frontier

The contract's forward-looking architecture includes the interconnection of deployed robots, laying the technological groundwork for telesurgery – remote surgical procedures performed by specialists located off-site, with a local clinical team at the patient's bedside. This vision builds upon a historic milestone achieved in May 2025, when Akdital and T2S collaborated on Morocco's first long-distance robotic intervention between Casablanca and Laâyoune.

"This framework agreement with Akdital illustrates the growing prominence of robotic surgery in T2S Group's development trajectory. It leverages over thirty years of experience in medical technology integration and teams capable of supporting these programs over the long haul – from installation through maintenance and training. Our ambition is to help make these technologies accessible everywhere in Morocco, and eventually across the continent," stated Abderraouf Sordo, Chairman and CEO of T2S Group.

Market Context and Implications

The partnership reflects a broader shift in Moroccan healthcare toward minimally invasive procedures, driven by clinical evidence of improved patient outcomes, reduced recovery times, and operational efficiencies. For T2S, the contract significantly bolsters its order book and validates its integrated service model. For Akdital, it reinforces its positioning as a technology-forward healthcare provider across its expanding national and international footprint – including recent expansions into Saudi Arabia with facilities in Riyadh and the acquisition of Al Bishri Hospital in Mecca.
