Casablanca Stock Exchange: Mixed Trading Day After Eid al-Fitr Holiday

The Casablanca Stock Exchange reopened this Tuesday, March 24, 2026, after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, with the market showing hesitation. The main indices ended close to their levels from the previous week, reflecting cautious sentiment among investors.

The flagship MASI index closed slightly lower by 0.04%, finishing at 17,236.40 points, erasing its gains in the final minutes of trading. Meanwhile, the MASI 20, a barometer for major capitalizations, slipped by 0.02% to 1,322.09 points. Market capitalization contracted to 963 billion dirhams.

Trading activity was notably strong, with a total volume of 542 million dirhams. Among the most traded stocks, Attijariwafa Bank led the pack with a volume of 155 million dirhams, despite a 0.29% decline to 690 dirhams per share. Bank of Africa followed with 52 million dirhams in volume, down 0.68% to 218 dirhams.

In contrast, Managem posted a positive performance, rising 1.51% to 8,020 dirhams on a volume of 33 million dirhams. On the upside, Lesieur Cristal surged by 8.73% to 386 dirhams, while Sanlam Maroc advanced 5.38% to 2,290 dirhams. At the other end of the spectrum, Boissons du Maroc recorded the steepest drop of the session, falling 6.50% to 2,001 dirhams.

Overall, the market displayed a mixed picture with selective gains and losses, as investors digested the post-holiday trading environment.
