CMGP Group Wins $34.5 Million Contract to Build Saïss Hydro‑Agricultural Irrigation Network
CMGP Group announced that it has secured the public tender for the design and construction of a modern hydraulic distribution network in the Saïss plain, part of the ambitious hydro‑agricultural development programme in the Fès‑Meknès region. The contract, valued at MAD 345.5 million (including taxes), aims to deliver reliable surface‑water irrigation from the M’dez dam to 10,000 ha initially, with a long‑term plan to extend to 30,000 ha, thereby reducing reliance on groundwater and boosting crop yields. The project is driven by the Ministry of Agriculture and aligns with Morocco’s national “Generation Green” strategy, targeting water‑stress mitigation, food‑security enhancement, and inclusive rural development. CMGP Group awarded the Saïss hydro‑agricultural irrigation contract
CMGP Group announced that it has been selected to execute the public tender for constructing a state‑of‑the‑art hydraulic distribution network in the Saïss plain, a cornerstone of Morocco’s hydro‑agricultural development plan for the Fès‑Meknès region.
The contract totals MAD 345.5 million (incl. tax). It covers the design, installation and commissioning of a modern irrigation system that will channel surface water from the M’dèz dam to an initial 10,000 ha of farmland, with a long‑term vision of expanding the service area to 30,000 ha. By delivering reliable water supply, the project seeks to lower the pressure on groundwater resources, improve crop yields and increase the resilience of farming operations.
The initiative is driven by the Ministry of Agriculture and backed by key institutional partners. It aligns with Morocco’s national “Generation Green” strategy, which targets water‑stress mitigation, food‑security reinforcement and inclusive rural development.
