Jet Contractors Posts 19% Net Profit Decline Despite Strong Revenue Growth in H1 2026

Moroccan construction giant Jet Contractors reported mixed results for the first half of 2026, with production surging 13% to MAD 1.92 billion while net profit fell 19% to MAD 103.6 million. The profit decline stems from startup costs on new projects and adverse weather conditions that disrupted execution timelines. Despite near-term challenges, the company's order book jumped 39% to MAD 12.8 billion, with international contracts representing 30% of backlog, positioning the firm for sustained growth.

Moroccan construction and public works leader Jet Contractors delivered a contrasting performance in the first half of 2026, demonstrating robust top-line growth while facing profitability headwinds from operational challenges.

Revenue Growth Amid Profit Pressure

The company's consolidated production reached MAD 1,916.41 million during H1 2026, representing a solid 13% increase compared to the same period in 2025. However, consolidated net profit declined 19% to MAD 103.6 million, reflecting temporary pressures on margins.

Management attributed the profit contraction to two primary factors: elevated startup costs associated with launching new construction sites, and unfavorable weather conditions during the first half of the year that significantly disrupted project execution schedules and operational efficiency.

Record Order Book Signals Strong Pipeline

Despite the near-term profitability challenges, Jet Contractors significantly strengthened its competitive position. The group's order book surged 39% year-over-year to reach MAD 12.8 billion as of mid-2026. Notably, international contracts now account for 30% of the backlog, underscoring the company's successful geographic diversification strategy.

This substantial order book provides the company with extended revenue visibility and a secured growth trajectory for the coming years, mitigating concerns about the temporary margin compression experienced in H1.

Strategic Diversification Drives Resilience

The first half results validate Jet Contractors' multi-segment approach and disciplined operational execution. The company operates across several high-growth verticals including building construction, public works, and energy infrastructure, leveraging both domestic opportunities and international expansion.

The public works division has been particularly dynamic, especially in civil engineering projects, bridges, and transport infrastructure. The group has made sustained investments in its industrial capabilities, now operating at full capacity. This industrial tooling serves as a competitive differentiator, enabling better cost control and value chain integration.

Energy Division Emerges as Growth Engine

Jet Energy, the group's energy infrastructure arm, continues to deliver exceptional progress and has established itself as a strategic pillar for future development. This division's performance highlights the company's successful positioning in Morocco's energy transition and infrastructure modernization programs.

While the first half profitability decline reflects cyclical headwinds rather than structural weaknesses, investors will be watching for margin recovery in the second half as new projects move past their startup phases and weather-related disruptions normalize.
