Key Details of the Upcoming Shareholder Meeting
Sanlam Maroc will host an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on July 8, 2026 in Casablanca. The agenda centres on a proposed corporate name change to SanlamAllianz Maroc.
Regulatory Clearance Required
The name change cannot take effect until the Authority of Control of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS) grants its approval. The regulator’s sign‑off is a standard prerequisite for any amendment affecting the insurer’s legal identity.
Statutory Amendment
To embed the new brand in the company’s charter, shareholders must also vote to amend Article 2 of the statutes, which currently defines the company’s denomination.
Strategic Rationale
The rebranding reflects the deepening partnership between South African insurance group Sanlam and German insurer Allianz, aiming to combine Sanlam’s regional expertise with Allianz’s global capabilities. The new name is intended to bolster market confidence and better communicate the joint value proposition to customers and investors.
