Sanlam Emerging Markets Ireland Boosts Stake to 88.63% in Sanlam Maroc After Capital Increase
Sanlam Emerging Markets Ireland Limited announced that it has crossed both the 5 % and 10 % ownership thresholds in Sanlam Maroc, directly holding 15.77 % of the capital and, together with its affiliated entities, controlling 88.63 % of the company after a capital increase linked to the Allianz Morocco merger. The move, reported by the Moroccan Capital Markets Authority (AMMC), underscores the consolidation of Sanlam’s position in the Moroccan insurance market.

Sanlam Emerging Markets Ireland Limited Increases Ownership in Sanlam Maroc
On July 17, 2026, Sanlam Emerging Markets Ireland Limited disclosed that it has directly surpassed the 5 % and 10 % ownership thresholds in Sanlam Maroc, as confirmed by the Moroccan Capital Markets Authority (AMMC).
The increase comes as part of a capital‑raising operation triggered by the merger‑absorption of Allianz Morocco into Sanlam Maroc.
Following the transaction, Sanlam Emerging Markets Ireland Limited now holds 842,585 shares of Sanlam Maroc, representing 15.77 % of the company’s share capital.
In addition, through its affiliates Allianz Africa Financial Services and Sanlam Pan Africa Maroc, the group indirectly controls 3,892,275 shares, which equals 72.86 % of the total capital.
Combined, the direct and indirect holdings amount to 4,734,860 shares, or 88.63 % of Sanlam Maroc’s equity.
Sanlam Emerging Markets Ireland Limited also confirmed that it acts in concert with its affiliates Allianz Africa Financial Services and Sanlam Pan Africa Maroc.
