OCP Green Energy and Jet Energy Launch First 202 MWc Solar Phase – Morocco’s Biggest PV Plant Now Operational
OCP Green Energy, the renewable‑energy arm of Morocco’s phosphate giant OCP, has officially commissioned the first 202 MWc phase of its solar‑investment programme. Partnered with Jet Energy, the new capacity spreads across three strategic sites – Benguerir, Foum Tizi and Oulad Farès – with the latter hosting the country’s largest operating PV plant at 105 MWc. The roughly 1.8 billion‑dirham investment was largely carried out by the Moroccan industrial ecosystem and backed by leading international financiers, underscoring OCP’s commitment to achieve carbon‑neutrality by 2040 and to secure 100 % renewable electricity for the Group by 2027.

Project Overview
OCP Green Energy, the renewable‑energy subsidiary of the OCP Group, announced on Monday the commissioning of the first 202 MWc phase of its solar‑investment programme. The launch marks a pivotal step in the Group’s roadmap to decarbonise its operations and secure clean power for its phosphate production.
Key Sites and Capacity
- Benguerir: 67 MWc
- Foum Tizi: 30 MWc
- Oulad Farès (Khouribga Province): 105 MWc – the largest operating photovoltaic plant in Morocco today.
Investment and Partnerships
The 202 MWc phase required an investment of roughly 1.8 billion Moroccan dirhams. The project was delivered with strong involvement from the local industrial ecosystem and the backing of top‑tier international financiers. Technical expertise was provided by Jet Energy, a subsidiary of Jet Contractors.
Strategic Outlook
OCP Green Energy, created in 2022, aims to meet 100 % of the Group’s electricity demand by 2027 with a target capacity of 1.2 GW that will combine renewable generation and storage solutions. The Group’s broader ambition is to reach carbon neutrality by 2040, with interim milestones that include securing all power from renewable sources.
